One of my goals for 2014 was to use some of my many dressmaking patterns to make Millie and I some clothes. My first project.....these little bloomer style shorts (for Millie) which I made from a vintage sheet. The pattern I used was by Bobkin - Blue Jays PDF pattern. I was so pleased with the finished result and I can't wait to tackle my next project.
Are you working on any dressmaking projects at the moment or found any great dressmaking patterns? I'd love to know.
Happy days to you!

Great job! These look amazing Melinda! x
ReplyDeleteThank you Jody. It feels so good to have made a piece of clothing with my own two hands. I studied fashion design many years ago and made clothes all of the time but am now incredibly out of practice. I must make the time to keep my skills up. Thank you for stopping by and leaving a comment. Melinda x
DeleteThese are lovely Melinda.
ReplyDeleteI've found some lovely old patterns at the op-shop. Now for the hard part of picking which vintage sheet to cut into.

That's always the hard part isn't it! The fabrics you choose are always lovely and how great are vintage patterns! Have a happy weekend Zara. Melinda x
Deletethese are sooo cute! I am planning on making some clothes this summer..not my specialty but I've got some skirt and blouse patterns lined up :)
ReplyDeleteSometimes you just have to get stuck in don't you, even if it's not your specialty. That's what I've decided to do. Good luck and have fun. Thank you for stopping by and leaving me a comment. Melinda x
ReplyDeletegood work, the bloomers are adorable! i used to sew all the time before my son was born, but sadly, the machine has been collecting dust now for a year. you've inspired me to get back at it!
