Made By Hand

One of the things I most looked forward to about having babies was being able to make them clothes with my own hands (trivial, I know, but it really is the little things).

This is my second little creation, a reversible pinafore with tie shoulder straps. Second to the little lady shoes I made a few weeks ago.

I got the pattern for this style from the book 'Cute Clothes For Kids' by Rob Merrett. It was so quick and easy to make, I'm sure I'll be churning out a few more over the coming weeks to pop over shirts and frilled bottom leggings come winter.

And honestly, what's not to love about a baby in a pinafore style top?

Have you been making anything special lately? I'd love to know.....

Happy days to you!

  1. Gorgeous! I love the fabric you used. I've got a few baby dresses in the pipeline - going to attempt a bubble hem dress I think...just need to find/make the time to get to the sewing machine!x

    1. Ooooh. A bubble hem. That would be a little trickier than the flat hem I've done. I look forward to seeing the finished product. Melinda x

  3. I have to agree with you there is nothing sweeter than a baby in a little pinafore dress. I think it's lovely that you are happy to be making things for your little one, I only wish I was sewing back then to make my girls some clothes. My sewing efforts now are for my nieces instead which is still fun.xx
